Holidays at Pokljuka
Sports holidays for teenagers at Pokljuka
Responsible, loving, original and understanding leadership of a group of children and young people, where each of them is equally important, is what makes the colonies with the “Anita Ogulin and ZPM” Association so special! Promotion, cooperation, solidarity, and a sense of community power are an important part of the mission of the “Anita Ogulin and ZPM” Association. Our educators are also the oldest participants of our holiday retreats, who are now in charge of planning and managing numerous unforgettable activities and create events, special traditions and evening activities.
The “Anita Ogulin” Association leads by example. This is the only way for young people to responsibly learn the behaviour and leadership that they can then bring into their own lives. Younger participants learn these skills when they observe older participants; these act in an extremely understanding manner towards all younger participants by including them in all activities and knowing how to comfort them and take initiative. In the colonies, educators talk to children a lot, and children also talk to one another. We are looking forward to thousands of children shouting out that “these were their best holidays ever”!

Programme
Leisure activities and spending free time in the mountains means learning about nature and the environment, strengthening the body and mind, and educating children about solidarity, justice, healthy competition, creativity, health, respect, honesty and other values that build a more beautiful and just future and equality for all. The emphasis will be on activities for adolescents. There will be a lot of physical activity, the “right” conversations and laughter.

Participants
The camp is intended for teenagers from 12 to 16 years of age (last triad of primary school and first and second year of high school). The camp has an emphasis on sports content: camping and survival in nature, mountaineering, and the like. During the camp, young people will also be introduced to the soldiers of the Slovenian Armed Forces, who are training at Pokljuka.
The camp is led by one of our most experienced pedagogical leaders, who is also a member of the reserve component of the Slovenian Army in peacetime, while the team of educators consists of accompanying adults from our Club of Educators who also take care of teenagers during our other holiday activities.

Accommodation
This summer will be magnificent: instead of the seaside, we’ll have fun at the lake! Our activities, programme and educators remain unchanged; it’s only the scenery that changes. Our camp will take place at a unique location – in the Rudolf Badjura facility at Pokljuka-Rudno polje. In the event of bad weather, we have the opportunity to use the classroom, kitchen and gym.
