What is the Sponsorship programme?

The Sponsorship in Slovenia programme is a pan-Slovenian programme created under the auspices of the Anita Ogulin and ZPM Association in 2010, with the aim of providing children and adolescents from socially disadvantaged backgrounds with an opportunity to develop in a healthy manner and achieve their life goals. Within the programme, each child is allocated a godparent who contributes at least EUR 30 per month to cover the cost of their basic needs, their school charges or their interest activities. The connection between the godparent and the child is anonymous, in order to protect personal data and preserve the dignity of a family in need. A family where both parents are employed is also entitled to such assistance, if their modest family benefits are not sufficient for their child to be able to benefit from their childhood and youth on an equal footing with their peers. We help children and adolescents from all over Slovenia.

Projects of the Sponsorship programme

Independent projects are also carried out within the framework of the Sponsorship in Slovenia programme:

  • Fund for high school pupils, which covers the costs of accommodation in high school dormitories.
  • Godparenting in sports, where young athletes receive the assistance necessary to achieve their potential.
  • Talent development that enables the payment of training and enrolment fees for children with various talents.
  • Magical winter/Magical summer, allowing families to enjoy unforgettable experiences together.
  • Holidays and trips, for children to enjoy holidays at the seaside and group trips free of charge.
