This programme is aimed at helping families with underage children from across Slovenia who live in poverty. In resolving the situation in which they have found themselves, we help them through a comprehensive assistance programme which we have developed through many years of working with families. By getting to know the family and its members, our expert colleagues prepare a plan in cooperation with the family \u2013 first, their most urgent needs are taken care of, followed by a preparation of an empowerment plan. This provides the family with the support and professional guidance to acquire the competencies and skills that help parents cope with the poverty that is paralysing the entire family. The goal of the empowerment program is for the family to resolve its issues and independently continue with an active life.<\/p>\n

Every society is only as strong as its weakest link. According to the latest data, as many as 264,000 people in Slovenia are living below the poverty line. Finding a way out of poverty is not a simple task, but it can certainly be accomplished through integration and comprehensive assistance. In the fight against poverty, we decided to connect to one another and form the strongest chain ever \u2013 the Chain of Good People.<\/p>\n

For more than 20 years, the Anita Ogulin and ZPM Association has been providing humanitarian assistance to families in need, helping numerous families overcome their plight. These families are living proof that a solution is always possible, and also provide us with an impetus to continue our work. Even though every story is unique, their common denominator is the realisation that this spiral, which is rapidly pulling people ever deeper below the at-risk-of-poverty threshold, can be stopped, reversed and spun in a positive direction. But when we find ourselves at a disadvantage, what we need most are kind people, understanding, and professional support. Our desire is to create a healthy core of our society; this is certainly achievable, but only if we join our efforts, which is why we invite you to join us and become a member of the Good People Chain.<\/p>\n
